ISOWC expands to 50 drivers for 2021 after incredible turnout!

With registration being open for just 24 hours, 76 drivers have already entered themselves for the ISOWC 2021 season and the Road to 7k. With 13 days still left before the chequered flag waves to close registration, we are excited to announce we will be increasing the entry list from 40 to 50 drivers!

While the entry list will grow, grid sizes will remain fixed at their current numbers (32 on road courses, 33 for the ISOWC 500 and 35 for all other ovals). Qualifying for each race takes on even more significance with up to 18 drivers missing out on valuable championship points every weekend.

Like useless iRating numbers? Well, the 76 drivers already registered for the ISOWC 2021 season combine for an average road iRating of 4300 with more than 7 current or former iRacing World Championship drivers included. As was expected, the IndyCar community is out in numbers with the traditional powerhouses of the Indy 500 Group, Powerslide Motorsports & Team Talent being joined by entries from 3-Crowns Racing, Ludicrous Speed, Satellite Racing & more!

They are joined by entries from some of simracing's largest teams. The Apex Racing Team (which works in partnership with Team I5G) brings a team stacked with iRacing World Championship talent including the current iRacing Rallycross World Champion Yohann Harth and Zac Campbell, who currently represents ART and Team RLL in the Porsche Tag Heuer Esports Supercup. Other teams that are joining the fight includes Core Simracing, YAS HEAT, SIMMSA Esports, Urano Esports, RLR Abruzzi eSports and Alpinestars Geodesic Racing to build up what might be the most competive field that virtual American Open-Wheel racing has ever seen with 24 drivers coming into the season with above 5,000 road iRating!

ISOWC 2021 gets underway on May 8th, 2021 at Watkins Glen with the final round of the 6 race championship taking place on July 31st, 2021 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
