The ISOWC Returns in 2021

For 5 years, the ISOWC Sim Racing Series was the premier @iRacing American Open-Wheel series. Then just stopped......In 2021, it returns bigger than ever before - this time powered by @RaceSpotTV and with a total prize pool of $7,000! With a short 6 race calendar featuring 4 road and street courses and just 2 ovals (Auto Club and the ISOWC 500), the championship lies wide open to be taken by a potential series newcomer.

The rules & regulations of the ISOWC always make for an interesting race weekend. With bumping for every round, qualifying becomes crucial - not just for starting position, but to ensure you even make the race at all! With full race distances, drivers being required to use multiple tyre compounds and manual safety cars at all races, strategy is thrown wide-open and drivers will have to rely on their teams to make the right choices at the right time.

On the line is one of the largest prize pools in virtual American Open-Wheel racing - $7,000 across just 6 races. The ISOWC 2021 Champion will take home $1,500 of the $4,350 championship pool with drivers as low as 30th still recieving a payout. In addition to the championship pool, each of the first five races will pay out $355 to the top 10 finishers, awarding $100 to the race winner for a total of $1,775 in 5 races. An additional prize pool of $875 will be on offer in the ISOWC 500 with the race winner taking home $250 meaning a perfect season would award the champion $2,250.

Arjuna Kankipati from RaceSpot had the following to say about the return of the ISOWC: "RaceSpot and its staff have had a long standing passion for IndyCar competition on the iRacing service and we are excited to bring our experience of organizing live events for clients to a league format. In partnership with Artifact Racing, we also have the RCLM (Race Control & League Management) system in use for the first time which will help empower our live admins. And of course, our broadcast team is excited to get underway at the start of May from Watkins Glen International!"

iRacing World Championship competitor and Apex Racing Team driver Zac Campbell was enthusiastic about the return of the ISOWC when we caught up with him: "I'm really looking forward to the rebirth of the ISOWC. I feel like for awhile we've been missing a truly competitive American Open-Wheel Series on iRacing, and I think we finally have that with a great format, great prizes, and great leadership that can bring the best form of racing in the world to the forefront of the esports world. I can't wait until May 8th when we can get on track and show the world what this series is all about!"

ISOWC 2021 gets underway on May 8th, 2021 at Watkins Glen with the final round of the 6 race championship taking place on July 31st, 2021 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
